ALRAQABA . ISSUE 18 31 Orginaztions and Audit Institutions Chaired by the Acting Undersecretary, Mr. Yousef Almazroui, the State Audit Bureau (SAB) participated in the virtual Global Summit, which was held on November 30, 2021, by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) on “What is the audit impact of Supreme Audit Institutions?”. The Summit was attended by 123 participants from SAIs across the world, and 14 representatives shared the audit experiences of their SAIs, i.e., Iraq, Malaysia, New Zealand, Palestine, Somalia, South Africa, Belgium, Latvia, Moldova, Tunisia, and India. Together with Mr. Almazroui, SAB was representedbyMr.WaleedAlmazeedi, A/Director of the Social Affairs Pre-Audit Department, and Mrs. Fatima Darweesh, Principal Auditor at the Pre-Audit Department. The Summit featured success stories of the participating SAIs on high-impact audits as well as audit practices. In addition, the participants discussed the impact causes. The International Budget Partnership together with the InterParliamentary Union shared their reflections on the topic of audit impact. The delegation of SAB presented the SAI’s success story in forming an emergency response team, through which SAB managed to resume working on the preaudit tasks during the period in which work was suspended in government entities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly from March 12, 2020, to June 29, 2021. Besides, the members of the SAB’s delegation presented the adopted reporting mechanism and highlighted that this area is of particular interest to SAB. They pointed out that SAB is keen to issue annual reports, which are annually delivered to His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait and His Highness the Crown Prince, as well as to the chairs of the legislative and executive authorities. They also mentioned that SAB is keen to make these reports available to the citizens by issuing the SAB’s Citizen’s Report and publishing the annual reports on the official website of SAB and the different social media platforms. Under the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, SAB sought to resort to the State’s official media in order to sensitize the citizens on the role undertaken by SAB during the pandemic.
