Audit Institutions
Organizations and
audit tasks for many SAIs, and approved the
estimated budget for 2021. The meeting also
reviewed SAIs’ reports on their participation in
the INTOSAI committees and working groups
and approved the recommendations and
decisions of the Executive Council’s meeting.
The meeting reached several conclusions
and decisions, and they are as follows:
•
Task the General Secretariat of
ARABOSAI, in coordination with the State
Audit Bureau of Kuwait, with continuing
the detailed study on “the possibility of
reserves spending and the organization’s
surplus” through explaining controls and
requirements of possibly resorting to the
organization’s surplus and presenting
the conclusions in the next meeting of
ARABOSAI Executive Council.
•
After reviewing development
initiatives proposed by the Chair of the
ARABOSAI Executive Council, the Council
decided to activate these initiatives by
forming a working group on IT audit. The
Council also decided to make available
the methodology of capital projects audit,
developed by SAI Qatar, for all Arab SAIs
through organizing a virtual training course,
building a database containing electronic
versions of the methodology, and recording
the training sessions and uploading them on
the organization’s website.
•
Establishing a website for the
ARABOSAI Journal based on an agreed
working plan between the SAI of Qatar and
the General Secretariat of ARABOSAI; and
determining the operational cost of this
initiative.
Prepare introductory film series about
ARABOSAI and an introductory video about its
committees and projects in both Arabic and
English languages, as well as another video on
the participation in the 24th INCOSAI in order to
highlight cooperation between ARABOSAI and
other organizations.
•
Study the proposal regarding the
rules and controls of work, the coordination
between the organization›s chairmanship
and the general secretariat, and the
activities follow-up system in accordance
with the requirements of the ARABOSAI
Statute; and present the conclusions in the
next meeting of the Executive Council.
•
Task the General Secretariat with
studying the proposed assignment of an
“Audit day”.
•
The Council decided to hold the
next ordinary meeting during the first
quarter of 2022 in person in Doha, Qatar,
or to hold it virtually if the global health
situation doesn’t improve.
