GCC SAIs Reach a
Consensus on SAB’s
Proposal Regarding
Spreading Awareness
on SDGs Audit
In Light of SAB’s Participation in
the 21st Meeting of GCC SAIs’
Undersecretaries,
The State Audit Bureau of Kuwait (SAB)
participated in the 21st Meeting of GCC
SAIs’ Undersecretaries, held on Sunday,
4 October 2020.
The SAB delegation was headed by the
SAB Undersecretary, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-
Holi, along with the Director of the Training
and International Relations Department, Dr.
Saud Al-Zamanan, and the Acting Head
of the International Relations Section, Mrs.
Nadia Al-Enezi.
Dr. Saud Al-Zamanan mentioned that SAB’s
proposal regarding spreading awareness
and knowledge on SDGs audit was approved
unanimously during the meeting. He also noted
that this proposal aims at sharing knowledge
in the field of auditing the implementation of
SDGs due to the importance of SAIs’ role in
this regard.
Al-Zamanan Added that the meeting discussed
a report on following up the implementation of
decisions issued during the 16th Meeting of
GCC SAIs’ Heads, which included discussions
of the training plan for 2020, implementing
the investments audit training program by the
SAI of Qatar, and the ISSAI workshop to be
held in the SAI of Saudi Arabia. The meeting
also addressed the general framework for
conducting seminars and conferences, in
addition to discussing the defined frameworks
and standards for holding workshops and
programs to introduce mutual work decisions.
Moreover, Al-Zamanan noted that the meeting
discussed Abu Dhabi Declaration regarding
“strengthening cooperation between SAIs and
anti-corruption authorities to fight corruption
effectively” and then submitting it to SAIs’ heads
for approval. The meeting also discussed the
draft agenda for the 17th Meeting of GCC SAIs’
Heads, as well as the items regarding joint
comprehensive audit and the themes of the fifth
GCC Competition for Research and Studies in
the field of auditing and accounting.
